Minutes of meeting dated 30th June Date: 30th June, 2007(Sat) Time: 1830 Venue: Color Rainbow Cafe Present: Anny, Eric, Mr. Sit, Jenny, Matthew, 朱家明 1. Camp 1.1 Feasibility of holding the camp in July/August 1.1.1 There will not be a problem for the availability of the campsite. 1.1.2 There may not be tutor available. 1.1.3 It may be too rush for the preparation of the camp. 1.2 Discussions on the preparation of the camp 1.2.1 The proposed target participants will be form 4 to form 6 students. 1.2.2 The proposed number of target schools is 5 to 10. 1.2.3 There will be interview before the start of the camp to show formality of the function. 1.3 Discussions on the contents of the camp 1.3.1 Conference Participants will be distributed into different countries for role play. During the half-day conference, they can know how to improve the present situation as an individual. The conference can also persuade them to take active actions in their daily life. It is important that the participants should have already had basic knowledge in the relevant political issues. 1.3.2 Proposal of reuse of computer material It is discussed that it is possible to introduce a proposal of reuse of computer material during the camp. Some background information will be provided and 1 to 2 hours will be allowed for the group discussion. Each group will present their idea after the discussion. 1.3.3 Mass games/Ice-breaking It is necessary to determine the proportion of duration of the mass games. The mass games can focus on environmental issues and to provide environmental information. 1.4 Factors affecting the decision on organizing the camp 1.4.1 If the camp cannot be held on July/August, there is high possibility of canceling the camp as it can avoid the delay of the coming proposed competition. 1.4.2 If the camp is not co-organized with BGCA, the camp will be cancelled. 1.4.3 Green platform will wait for the reply from BGCA. 2. reen Campaign?Competition 2.1 The original title of the function (Environmental Campaign Proposal Writing Competition) is now replaced by the new title (Green Campaign Competition). 2.2 Division of work The work will be divided into certain parts and each committee member will take the whole responsibility in his/her own part. 2.2.1 Marketing (Anny) - sponsorship 2.2.2 Publicity (Mr. Sit + Jenny) - design posters, artwork 2.2.3 Public Relation (Matthew) - co-ordinate the public relation work - contacting mass media 2.2.4 Co-ordination (Mr. Sit) 2.2.5 Treasurer (??) 2.2.6 Secretary (Jenny) - paperwork 2.3 Sponsorship seeking 2.3.1 The predicted expenditure in the price presentation ceremony will be large. It is doubtful that the Green Platform can have cash sponsor. It is necessary to find ways in fund raising in next meeting. Anny will begin drafting letters and e-mails, and will try to apply funding from EPD. 2.4 Preparation of short presentations for schools The duration of the presentations will be around 15 to 30 minutes. Matthew will be responsible to draft the agenda of the presentations. 2.5 Works needed to be done 2.5.1 Registration of the Green Platform should be done before 7th July, 07. 2.5.2 Every committee member need to prepare his/her own work in the coming two months 2.5.3 Publicity should have the basic draft in the coming meeting. 2.5.4 Find 5 to 10 core helpers (potential committee members). Every committee member need to determine number of helpers needed in each stage. 2.5.5 Find around 20 target schools (throughout HK). 2.5.6 Find co-organizers (e.g. Friends of the Earth). 3.
